Missouri has a State Chapter!

On April 2, 2011, in Columbia, Missouri, at an open call meeting, Missouri launched its organization by approving a constitution, by‑laws and code of ethics, then electing its Executive Council.

Kristin Drummond, after two years of persisting along with her Park University graduate professor, Judy Greene, and several months with a formation committee, the battle was finally over and on April 2nd, a new chapter in Missouri Educational History began. A similar thrust in Wisconsin, which also began as a small group of teachers and administrators with a vision, now has over 200 members and has held seven conferences in Wisconsin for educators concerned with the success of the at-risk population inside its borders.

Kristin Drummond, at the Holiday Executive Center meeting on April 2nd, was elected as President. Her term is for two years and will be followed by Stacey O'Connell, elected as President-Elect. Elected as Secretary was Jennifer McFall, and Judy rown as Treasurer. Judy Webb was elected as the Member-at-Large a stipulated executive council position.

The next order of business is to build the membership in Missouri and with that in mind if you wish to become a member you may contact Kristin.Drummond @ park.edu [Eliminate the spaces in the email address.]

Congratulations, Missouri!

[Word has it that Georgia, under the steady encouragement of Monique Lyles, is in the process of calling its state to order and also starting a state chapter in the near future.]
