The CARE Unit is composed of the following federal programs:
- Title I Part B (Even Start)
- Adult Education and Family Literacy
- General Educational Development (GED)
- Colorado Refugee English as a Second Language (CRESL)
These funding efforts are coordinated to support state and local reform to improve the academic performance of all students. The Center for At Risk Education has made available $200,000 for the Colorado Coordinated Professional Development and Technical Assistance Grant Program. These funds are in full support of Title I schools, school wide programs and schools identified for school improvement.
The majority of the Center for At Risk Education's responsibilities and activities have been fully integrated with and into other program areas. The Title I segment on school wide programs is no exception. It allows a school to use Title I funds and other Federal education program funds and resources to upgrade the entire educational program of the school in order to raise academic achievement for all their students.
Integrated services of Title I, Even Start, Even Start Migrant, Adult Education and Family Literacy are collaborating to impact cost efficiency and program effectiveness. Regional instructional specialists that will serve or provide service to assigned regions support these efforts. Follow the links below for more information.
